SCOTD: Cooking

Cooking is an act of self care for me because it is actually an act of self love. A labor of love. To cook means you have to put a lot of thought into yourself, energy included. Sometimes struggling with our mental health and/or self esteem means that we don’t think we are worth the work. At the bare bones of it, some people struggle with eating altogether! So cooking is an extra labor.

This is a pie I made. A pie I made during grieving. A pie I made over and over again. Is it a perfect pie? No, but it is delicious and made with love.

*Because this blog is new, I will spend time talking about the specific thing I did and why it served as self-care. In the future you will have that information already so I will share with you more on the specific activity that day and my experience.*
